MenuGenie analyses restaurant menus. This page describes exactly what we collect, where it goes, and how to get it deleted. If anything here is unclear, email menugenieai@gmail.com and we will answer within 24 hours.
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The menu you submit (pasted text, a URL, or an uploaded photo/PDF) | When you run an analysis | To produce your report |
| The report we generate | Every analysis | So we can re-send it and help you if something goes wrong |
| A random visitor ID stored in your browser | First visit | To join your visit to your analysis. It is not linked to your name and we cannot identify you from it |
| Page events: visit, analysis run, checkout clicked, report downloaded | As they happen | To see where the product is working and where it is not |
| Approximate country, device type, and how you reached us (referring site or campaign) | As they happen | To understand which channels bring useful traffic |
| Your email address and name | Only if you buy | To deliver your report and support the purchase. Supplied to us by Gumroad |
This is the most important thing to know. To analyse your menu we send its contents to a third-party AI model — OpenAI (GPT-4o), and Anthropic (Claude) for PDFs and as a fallback. They process it to generate your report. We do not give them your name or email, and menu contents are not used by us to train any model. Their handling is governed by their own terms. Do not paste anything into MenuGenie that you would not want processed this way — a menu is normally public information, so for ordinary use this is not a concern.
The Google and Meta tags set cookies and are used for advertising measurement. If you would rather not be measured by them, a standard ad blocker or your browser's tracking protection will stop them; MenuGenie itself keeps working normally.
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email menugenieai@gmail.com. If you are in the UK, EU, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection regulator.
MenuGenie is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16.
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
